Course Description:

The class will consist of the following specific contents and learning objectives:

Guided reading of contemporary stories, essays and poetry
Guided writing assignments in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry
Feedback on each writing assignment for each student
Assistance submitting work to publication and contests: at the end of the semester, every student will have at least three polished pieces ready to submit to The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and various publication opportunities.
